Ozempic what do we really know about it?

                                                                    Ozempic

In recent months across the internet Ozempic has become an extremely popular topic but what do we really know about it?Ozempic is seen in the media as a drug that helps people lose weight and more easily identified as being taken by many clebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and Elon Musk .

However did you know that its primary use is a treatment  for type 2 diabetes.Ozempic is the brand name for the medication semaglutide. Semaglutide is a drug that helps diabetics control their blood sugar levels. It increases the levels of incretins (a group of hormones that stimulate a decrease in blood sugar levels) which are produced naturally by the stomach when you eat. This works by helping your body produce more insulin when needed, reducing the amount of glucose produced by the liver and slows down the speed at which food is digested.A combination of these factors are what reduces blood sugar levels.

In relation to weight loss ozempics most significant impacts are curbing appetie leading to a reduction in calorie consumption , slowing down the rate of food travelling through your digestive tract which helps you remain fuller for longer and preventing large blood sugar spikes. Although these factors can lead to weight loss, the impacts are only maximised if it is taken in the long term. Doctors have suggested that if someone stops taking ozempic after weight loss it will most likely be gained back within a few months. That leads us to wonder how effective is it really?
